AAID were appointed as Lead Consultant for a new headquarters in Saudi Arabia following our successful completion of this US founded law firms’ partner office in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Understanding the parameters by which our clients undertake their core business helped to develop a strong relationship between each of our organisations. This combined with an enthusiasm to integrate local regional influences helped to mould the design of the company’s new Saudi headquarters.
The design consists on a series of local Saudi Arabian historic and architectural elements. The peaking of sand dunes along with the use of double layering of facades can be seen in the design. The introduction of a barrilux ceiling throughout provides diffused light maximising the feeling of openness throughout the office space. The stepping of the architectural facades throughout the reception space creates private and semi-public spaces, providing openness but discretion between visitors and users. The contemporary use of traditional materials fused with glazing accentuates the international corporate but local personalised approach to how our clients do business.
